Goodfellas

I just finished watching Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas," and I thought why not just do a review as it's fresh in my mind....

Ray Liotta and Robert DeNiro took control and they delivered in this classic. After I finished watching the film, I went and googled "Henry Hill" and "Jimmy Conway." lol I found out that Henry Hill is regarded as the biggest "Mob rat" of all time and Jimmy, well, his real name was Jimmy Burke and his daugther wanted $100,000 so they could use his name, instead they settled for Conway, his mom's maiden name.

Ok Now for the movie. Over 2 and a half hours, this movie does not let up at all; there are certainly no boring parts and you are fully concentrated on the proceedings throughout. Very rarely can a movie have that affect on me. I haven't watched many serious, and hard hittng Mafia movies but this is definitely my current favorite (Though I will be watching the Godfather series in the future). There is no doubt in my mind that this is an instant favorite for me and an instant classic for Hollywood.

********* (9/10)

Scenes:

Ending:
I loved how they did it. They set it up to the point where you knew that Henry
will eventually have to Snitch on Paulie and Jimmy. (Jimmy only giving Paulie
$3,200 and Jimmy almost trying to Whack Karyn lol)

Turning Point: Tommy Getting Whacked on the Day that he is supposed to be made. That was a
very powerful scene.

Funniest: Come on this was an Italian Mafia movie... of course there are going to be a lot of
laughs, lol

Memorable:

Oh! This officially means that The GAMBITT has officially started!!

Stay tuned for more!!

New Update!! New Use!!

Ok so It has been a while... I mean seriously lol... so now I am going to start blogging again. I am going to use this site for whatever is on my mind ( I guess like everyone else does lol) but also I guess the main reason why I am starting to use it again is to Keep an upto date list of recent movies that I will be watching...

So here is the scenario... about a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon IMDB.com's 250 greatest movies of all time. While I have seen the list before, this time I thought, "There are a lot of movies that I have seen on this list, and not really coincidentally, those have been some of my all time favorite movies. What about the majority of movies on this list that, well, I have never seen or some never even heard of. Thus started my quest to watch the greatest movies of all time. Or as I have so uniquely called, the Greatest Assembly of Movies Boasting Intuitive Thinking Tour, equally abreviated GAMBITT :)

I will start posting the movies, and more information in more time to come!!
